Mazda has just unveiled the MX-5 RF, for retractable fastback, just ahead of the New York Auto Show.
The new model has new styling to compliment the hardtop that retracts into the area behind the seats. There is also a retractable back window to “offer a new open-air feeling,” Mazda said.
There is a smooth roofline that slopes down to the rear end, quite different that the previous hardtop convertible.
The roof can be opened or closed at slow speeds with the press of a button. Mazda said the new model offers the same amount of trunk space as the soft top.
Power wise, the new model will come with the 2.0-liter, 155 horsepower four offered in the convertible.
