“Das Auto” is out as an advertising slogan at Volkswagen as the automaker tries to change its image in the wake of the diesel emissions scandal. The new image will be just the familiar VW logo and the Volkswagen name under it, according to Reuters, the news service that broke the story.
Nissan’s Titan XD pickup will carrying a starting price of $40,290 for the S model 4×2 with the top-of-the-line Reserve 4×4 starting at $60,520. The XD is the more heavy duty version of the Titan and is just now hitting showrooms. It will be offered in three cab configurations, two frame sizes, and five trim levels. All models will be equipped with a Cummins 5.0-liter Turbo diesel offering a robust 555 lb-ft of torque, matched with a 6-speed automatic.
Ford is recalling a total of 313,000 Crown Vics and Grand Marquis models because solder joints on a module could crack and cause the headlights to fail. Ford said it was aware of 11 accidents and one minor injury. Involved are 2003-05 models.
