Here is what we know about the 2016 Camaro that will be displayed Saturday at an event in Michigan. GM said the car will have only two parts that carry over from the current model – the bowtie emblem on the tail lamp panel and the SS badge. It will be based on GM’s Alpha platform that is now featured on the Cadillac ATS and more than 70 percent of the components are unique to the Gen 6 model. There will be an all new interior, front and rear suspension and powertrain components and the new model is said to be 200 pounds lighter. There are hints that the exterior design may not be much different. A turbo four is a good bet to join the engine lineup.
Check back late Saturday afternoon for more – the reveal does not take place until 4 PM. The 2015 Camaro with the 1LE package is pictured.
