Auto News for Feb. 12

Just saw what is claimed to be an official picture of the 2016 Honda Pilot. In short, if you liked the looks of the 2015 model you will like the looks and interior of the new one. The real one will be revealed later today.

I am currently testing the 2015.5 (that is correct) Volvo V60 T6 AWD and it is the first vehicle that I have seen without a printed owner’s manual. Instead, it lives in a computer for viewing on the too small center stack screen. The printed books are much easier to reference for quick answers to common questions. Rather strange too that the test car offers only an inconvenient manual lumbar adjustment.

Tesla shares fell nearly 3 percent in after-hours trading after the company reported a quarterly loss of $107.6 million and missed sales targets. It delivered 9,834 vehicles in the fourth quarter well below the forecast 13,000.

VW said its Golf SportWagen will carrying a starting price of $21,395 while a diesel model will begin at $24,595. The new model is scheduled to hit dealer showrooms in April. In addition to the 150 horsepower diesel the SportWagen will be available with a 1.8 liter 170 horsepower turbo four and both will be offered with an automatic tranny or a stick.

Mazda announced that its 2016 CX-5 will carry a base price of $21,795 while the Mazda6 will start at $21,495 on up to $30,095 for the Grand Touring AT.
