Mitsubishi has added some horsepower to its popular Outlander Sport in the form of a 2.4-liter four rated at 168 ponies, or 20 more than the current 2.0-liter engine. The engine will be available in the ES and GT models.
Ford will display a new Police Interceptor at the Chicago Auto Show later this week. It’s a version of the Ford Explorer that has been modified for more heavy duty use by authorities. We will get more information at introduction. After all, something had to replace all those old Crown Vics.
Also popping up in the Windy City will be refreshed versions of the Acura RDX, Chevy Equinox, and the completely new Honda Pilot that should also give us a good idea of what the new Ridgeline will look like.
Mitsubishi will grab more than a little attention with a concept vehicle it is calling the GC-PHEV. What is likely to be a hybrid electric vehicle will be unveiled on Thursday. If a version ever hits the showroom, look for it to carry a different name.
