Toyota will show off special edition Camry and Corolla models at the Chicago Auto Show next week. It will also display a “refreshed Avalon sedan.” The Camry will feature unique 18 inch alloy wheels, moonroof, and “smoked tail lamp treatment”, trim changes on the interior and wireless charging. Generally, the changes to the Corolla are about the same with 17 inch wheels, and each will get Entune Premium Audio with navi. They will be limited edition cars and appear in showrooms in late summer.
The librarian at my high school drove a black Borgward Isabella, a rather rare German sedan that I always thought looked like a water buffalo on wheels. The automaker went out of business in the early 60’s but now is staging a comeback. On March third it will announce its plans at the Geneva Auto Show with the founder’s grandson, Carl F.W. Borgward, a part of the management team. You get five gold stars if you remember this car.
Urban Science reports that the typical auto dealer sold a record 921 units last year, the third time in as many years that the sales record had been broken. The number of auto dealers remained stable.
