2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel engine

Green Car Journal has awarded its 2015 Green Truck of the Year honor to the RAM 1500 EcoDiesel. Green said it is the only “fuel-efficient diesel engine in the light duty truck segment.”  Other finalists were the Ford F-150, Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon.

National Car Rental is now offering a Maserati Ghibli S 4 at ten airport locations around the country as part of its “Premier Selection.”

The AWD Jaguar F-Type will make its official world debut at the LA auto show on Nov. 19th. And nearly 50 historic and unique vehicles will be on display at the show including a Porsche 959 Sport, a 1960 Mercedes 300 SL roadster and a 1970 Barracuda convertible. In keeping with the current trend, some of Los Angeles’ most popular gourmet food trucks will be serving some grub.

Grammy award winner Miranda Lambert is now the official spokesperson for the Ram pickup. Ram has given Lambert a customized truck which she is auctioning off to benefit her charity designed to better the lives of shelter animals.

McLaren announced that its latest offering, scheduled to be unveiled in the second quarter of 2015, will be known as the McLaren Sports Series. It will feature a carbon fiber chassis and mid-mounted V8.

Navigant Research predicts that three-quarters of the vehicles sold in 2035 will have autonomous capability. It said the first vehicles with some level of self-driving capability are expected to come to market by 2020, with sales volumes becoming significant by 2025.

It is only a concept vehicle, but a custom tailgating package built into a Chevy Suburban features a handcrafted table and benches made of recycled wood salvaged from purposefully deconstructed Detroit homes. Each section is stamped with the donor home’s address. Many homes in blighted areas of the Motor City were torn down to clear space for what many hope will be future development.
